This is disturbing. Most of us are savvy enough to know how to deal with these types, but there are many in our neighborhood who are vulnerable (i.e. more trusting) to these scammers. I would encourage folks to talk to your neighbors, especially those you feel may be more at risk of being scammed. You could also offer to help such neighbors with the task of making this difficult/confusing decision. I'm sure many folks don't have computers or aren't internet savvy....

Howdy,

Yesterday I was visited by a guy claiming to be from PECO and seeking to "fix" my account. He stated that PECO previously informed me that I "needed" to pick an electric provider and he was sent out to help me. If I would just show him my electric bill, he assured me that he would be happy to fill out all of the forms for me to fix this problem. He was impressive in his ability to twist things. Apparently another neighbor was also visited by a woman yesterday pushing the same lies.

Cheers,
Stephen
