Neighbors,
This is going to bring tears to your eyes!
When I saw that our beloved UCD got this incredible honor from the city,
I dropped to my knees and gave thanks with all my heart. With
overwhelming joy, I wept like a baby!
Those dear dear heroes of UCD selflessly took that hellish pit of
despair, and like magic, they transformed it into the glorious cleaner
and safer paradise that is fenced off today.
I cannot possibly express my love and gratitude with words. So I'm
giving our Saviors the leaders of the Friends of Clark Park for their
special pleasuring on these cold winter nights.

*UCD Loves Our Parks *
On February 9, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the
Pennsylvania Horticultural Society celebrated hundreds of dedicated
volunteers who work all year on behalf of the City?s public parks, and
singled out two couples, two park friends groups and two organizations
for special recognition. UCD was honored for our commitment to all the
parks throughout University City but most especially Clark Park. Dexter
Bryant and Ann Mintz accepted the award on behalf of UCD. The citation
noted that our commitment to Clark Park is unmatched by any other
organization in the city, and reflects the work we have done to promote
the Clark Park Farmers? Market, the massive cleanup after the June 2010
storm and keeping the park clean and safe.

*LUCY gets a makeover *
In 1999, UCD in partnership with SEPTA began the LUCY (Loop through
University City) service in an effort to increase the connectivity
between Philadelphia?s transportation hub at 30th Street Station and
West Philadelphia?s largest employers. 12 successful years later, LUCY
receives a modern makeover! If you?re one of the 250,000 annual riders,
keep your eyes on the lookout for LUCY?s new logo and striping. To
