Mon 3.14 6:30-8pm RecycleNowPhila activist training
For those of you who don't know: RecycleNowPhiladelphia is a campaign
that was created in advance of the last local election to put pressure
on mayoral and city council candidates in to commit to improving
Philly's pathetic recycling program. It was an overwhelming success
because so many voting, tax-paying citizens put their voices together
DEMANDED WEEKLY, RESIDENTIAL CURBSIDE SINGLE-STREAM RECYCLING.
But there is lots of room for improvement, and RecycleNowPhiladelphia
is not going to quit.
Here's what you can do to help:
Hey West Philly-
Tired of walking by your neighbor's house and seeing piles of trash
with no recycling bin in sight? Ever wanted to do something about it?
It's great that we can now recycle all plastics 1-7, bottle caps,
aluminum foil, milk cartons and all kinds of materials now, but
what'll make an even bigger difference is getting ***just one other
person to recycle who's not already recycling***. We can agonize and
fret over what do with a certain hard to recycle material, but getting
your neighbor to start recycling will make an impact that's tens of
times greater.
So come on by RecycleNOW's West Philly activist training session:
Monday March 14, 6:30-8 pm, The Enterprise Center, 4548 Market St.
RecycleNOW has been holding events all over the city, and now it's
West Philly's turn (though folks from outside of West Philly can still
attend). Come and learn about all of the latest recycling happenings
in the city, get trained to become your neighborhood's recycling guru,
and learn to sign others up for the Recycling Rewards program.
