The sale of Fairmount park and the transfer of "mini-parks" (corporate
welfare) has now been announced.
Transparency-haha. They spent 8 years demanding that Clark Park
dealings remain secret. First it was the "master plan steering
committee", then the "FOCP planning committee," now it's the "Clark Park
Partnership." (The plans changed like a moving target, but the demand
for exclusion and secrecy was always sacrosanct.)
The corporations know that civic association leaders can be bought and
the principles of democracy have long been forgotten by the silent
majority. Without the betrayal of the petty bourgeoisie, they could not
now end public parks through privatization.
Goodbye Fairmount park!
