Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves
This story about comrade Jesus provides my favorite lesson about holy week. In a revolutionary moment, Jesus saw the beginnings and evil of capitalist corruption, which was destroying the hope for human spirituality and the sacredness of planet earth, so he acted. In the story, he turned over the tables of the money changers in the temple, who have now spread across the entire sacred place we call planet earth.
Many of us understand that this specific courageous and important revolutionary act is the reason Jesus was murdered by the centers of internal power, which had corrupted the common people's natural path to spirituality.
As we celebrate this great revolutionary from antiquity, let's not forget to pray for Bradley Manning, Julian Assange, and all those imprisoned or murdered for revolutionary acts to save mankind!!
