Universal health care is the only way to begin to reform our terribly broken health care system. At least half of Americans face hardships acquiring basic medical care. Our profit driven system gives us the worst outcomes of the industrialized world at over twice the cost of any other country. It is the leading cause of bankruptcy in America and causes extreme suffering and the needless deaths of thousands.
(A Harvard study gave hard evidence that 40,000 uninsured people needlessly die EACH year. I estimate that deaths among the underinsured and working poor far exceed that yearly 40,000 number, but is cloaked by the thousands of "insurance products." The number of underinsured is growing rapidly. The ACA will use taxpayer money to profit health insurers, who will only provide junk insurance.)
Primary care visits have dropped tremendously among the lower half of the population, since ACA was passed. These were IMPORTANT and LIFESAVING visits that were skipped because of the increasing financial barriers to accessing care. This will also lead to catastrophic cost increases and exasperate the emergency room crisis.
Other than dissolving the military empire, medicare for all, would be the single biggest boost to the economy and alleviate tremendous levels of human stress and suffering among the common people. Profit driven health care destroys entire families with single blows!
Please stop believing the lies, and make the call!
