You might want to see Jeremy Scahill on Tuesday night at the central library.  His new book, Dirty Wars, should be required reading for all public school students, and might give you some important new information.  (I recently saw him speak at Harvard with Noam Chomsky and Amy Goodman)  

One reason the corporate media completely ignores the truth about US global policy is the bipartisan nature of our ruthless global empire.  The workings of the corporate military empire continue methodically, whichever wing of the duopoly represents corporate America at the time.  As Glenn Ford, The Black Agenda report, noted; the Democrats are the more effective wing for corporate domination. 
 

The Republicans push the outer limits of corporate totalitarian ideology, and the democrats implement the agenda with melodious platitudes, lies, and misdirection.  Obama has "double- downed" (Scahill) on the Cheney Rumsfeld terror policy in almost every area, such as the persecution of whistle blowers, secrecy, the police state, and international war crimes.  Yet, his base among the Democrat middle class remains silent.

(Jimmy Carter tried to send me to kill in El Salvador and Nicaragua.  Truman used nuclear war to scare the Russians and escalated the century of Korean genocide .  Kennedy attacked Cuba despite Castro's entreaties, and Kennedy/Johnson started and escalated Vietnam after the French empire, and Clinton solidified Reagan/Thatcherism. The so called lesser evil is pretty damn evil.) 
  

I too voted for Obama during the first term, and was cautiously optimistic for the first week or so. (He fooled me too with his book, The Audacity of Hope.) I understood that the American middle class would need to stand up and force hope and change, and of course that didn't happen. ( Wall St. was brilliant in its choice of Obama for the Democrats.)


Gun people and gay marriage supporters all need to look past the lies of their Republican/Democrat parties.  We all need to recognize why the big policies like wars, health, education, etc. are never covered in corporate media, as they manipulate emotions, fear, and hate by focusing solely on emotional/cultural issues. ("We does freedom and democracy" is the extent of thoughtful comprehensive reporting and analysis in the bipartisan media.)

 The politicians don't give a damn about guns, abortions or gay marriage because the 1% live above those laws anyway! And the Wall St. agenda of global military totalitarianism proceeds uninterrupted decade after decade,  as the Democrats and Republicans do the bipartisan dance all the way to the Cayman Islands. Money and power are the true bipartisan issues!

(Do you know what Obama is trying to do with these secret, "trade agreements?"  It is nothing short of nullifying nation sovereignty under multi-national corporations.  If the US or any signatory country defies Wall St. and passes worker safety, environmental laws, etc., the nations taxpayers will be fined and the laws nullified!

I wish there was a real difference between red evil and blue evil, but there is only corporate evil and politician prostitutes.  Without Dennis Kucinich, Elizabeth Warren will be a lonely voice in that cesspool of corporate lies.

PS:  I hope you got to see the full Moyers and Co.  I saw corporate/university science from the inside, but the middle class needs to learn the truth about the science of "safety" claims, behind corporate chemicals and profits. People on the list will remember how RoundUp was safe to drink, and that I was a liar for speaking up!

Here in upscale paradise, we celebrated the local death of the First amendment with a beer party in Clark Park.  We demanded that freedom of assembly, free speech, and a free press be destroyed long ago.  And now that damn freedom of the corporate press is gone too.  Ending citizen rights and persecuting journalism is good.  It is very very good!
