Yes, Chris sees the world with open eyes and courage. He also is one of the few who fully understands what the billionaires are planning, as they drive us all toward global climate collapse.

Look at our brave sister standing strong against the evil and brutality of our corporate police state.  The people with a living spirit will tend to feel rage when they view it!

Claude McKay's poem is as relevant today, as the day he wrote it.

If we must die, let it not be like hogs
Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,
While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs,
Making their mock at our accursèd lot.
If we must die, O let us nobly die
So that our precious blood may not be shed
In vain; then even the monsters we defy
Shall be constrained to honor us though dead!
O kinsmen! We must meet the common foe!
Though far outnumbered let us show us brave,
And for their thousand blows deal one death blow!
What though before us lies the open grave?
Like men we’ll face the murderous, cowardly pack,
Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!

Here are two very important new essays. Giroux's analysis of the interconnection of the attacks on public schools and all other systems and targets of neoliberal capitalism is extremely important for Philadelphians! Only by carefully considering the full reality and goals of our plutocracy and monopoly capitalism with open eyes, can we join together in solidarity across the broad range of issues to save public education, the planet, and a hope for democracy itself. The battle in Chicago is truly our fight, and the teachers, students, and parents are our comrades in the fight for Philadelphia and its schools. Please read it carefully. This excellent essay offers a great number of vital interconnections to consider.  Share with other activists!

Journalism.  Jensen's analysis of the reality of corporate journalism and discussion of "prophetic" and "apocalyptic" journalism is very important as citizens wake from the long nap.  In order for we the people to take the actions necessary to save everything, careful consideration of these concepts, processes and realities is of paramount importance!  Excellent, important essay!

Solidarity and resistance,
Glenn
