In our simple minded consumer culture, it's very popular to attack and dismiss long term truth tellers and intellectuals. Dr Roberts is someone from the establishment, so maybe some will take notice to his analysis. (link below)
Watching the bipartisan corporate war criminals defend the processes of a fascist police state, they obviously assume that most are complete idiots or too terrified to question them. Those individuals with a basic understanding of totalitarian systems understand how far beyond the point of no return we have gone. Once we thumbed our noses at transparency and the absolute minimal requirements for a republic, this fascist police state was INEVITABLE!
Of course, the threats to journalists and heroic leakers increase, as the lies flow unabated. The patriot act, fisa, ndaa, secret kill lists, indefinite torture, and genocide-where did we think all of this would end? These weren't individual news fillers to fill the time between episodes of the Shark Tank. Do we think the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. will have a great deal of sympathy for us exceptional Americans?
