Some of you have probably followed what is known about Obama's secret negotiations around the Trans Pacific Partnership. For those who haven't, this is an extremely important corporate coup among the many serious issues of today! (Below is a report on Democracy Now from last week, and there are many more confirmations of this in the literature)
Making individual corporations and corporate cartels more powerful than nation states has been around for some time. The current goal seems to be to codify, under the cloak of trade pacts, the corporate demand of 100% certainty of maximum profit! And it will allow corporations to punish and tax common citizens of any country, for any obscene profits desired but not obtained!
Locally, we have already seen this neoliberal power grab model, as the attempt to give taxation power to unaccountable entities through the Business Improvement Districts. These corporate organizations have been taking governmental authority away from city governments across the country, and acquire taxation authority without any sort of accountability to the people.
This concentration of unlimited corporate power is also related to the little dictatorships, such as Detroit, according to the ALEC push for "emergency managers" to strip away all power from elected municipal governments.
But the big prize being codified now, will allow unbelievable punishments and taxation against citizens of entire nations for passing any regulations or laws in their interest!
(You can research this same US policy within the Goldman Sachs control of the streets of Chicago and it's parking meter revenue.) I've seen profit ratios as severe as 100-1 in Africa. (The corporation "invests" 1 million dollars, and can sue the citizens for 100 million dollars.)
People need to recognize that in one sweeping blow, Wall St./Obama will eliminate by fiat all environmental, safety, consumer protections, etc. while economically enslaving the citizens of any signatory country in the world, including American citizens. (There are also secret plans for the same "trade deal" among the Atlantic countries.)
This is a very big deal that is largely unknown by Americans. Listen carefully:
