Hello All,

I SO apologize for so many messages coming through lately - a lot has
happened, and also some messages were updates. I am trying to be
efficient and address 2 situations in this one message now:

Two women told me of a man who exposed himself in broad daylight at the
Woodland Cemetery. Both women were there to stretch and jog together. I
am wanting to put this out to you all, especially to give a heads up to
other women who like to jog there. Here is the description of the man:

"If I remember correctly, the guy in the cemetery was a little older (I
want to say in his later 50s, at least), homeless looking African American
man. I don't think he was very tall, probably not taller than myself, like
5'6" 5'7"? Medium build, although it was hard to tell because he had on A
LOT of clothes, like 3 jackets in the middle of summer, and he was sitting
across the road by the trolley stop. I don't remember too many details
because it was a few months ago. He may have had a beard, but I'm not
positive. He was unkempt and scraggly, which is what made me think he was
homeless (plus all of the extra clothes). He looked dirty. As we were
stretching near the entrance of the cemetery, he walked across the street
and entered the cemetery, a few feet behind where we were standing. That's
when we realized what he was doing. So we took off running, and when we
returned, he was back on the cement ledge or bench across the street by the
trolley."

PLEASE CALL 911 IF YOU EXPERIENCE THIS. If you have already encountered
this person, please let me know. I am working with the two women to file
reports so that we can help the police as much as possible about this.
Officer Vallette said the following about why this is important:

"Any incident like this should be reported. the problem when it isn't is
when we do have a job like this,it is hard to get the person locked up.
then what usually happens is the person goes to a mental hospital and is
released in 72 hrs. if it is a mental problem then with every report made
it allows the hospital to keep them longer for the help they need. In a
worst case scenario if the person is a sexual predator the reports will
help with a conviction."

The second situation is a possible scam to find houses to target for
burglary. My neighbor received a phone call yesterday, and I did as well,
from the following number 480 214-5362, caller id Tanesha Bailey. The
person on the other end was male, while this name seems female, which
seemed suspicious to me. He asked me about replacing the security system I
had installed 3 years ago. Without saying anything about the status of our
house being alarmed, I quickly dismissed him saying not interested, take me
off his call list. He lingered as if to try to talk longer.
Unfortunately, my neighbor's reaction was to say "We don't have a security
system", because she was in a hurry but afterwards realized that was wrong
to say.

Because of the number of burglaries we've been having, and the complete
ransacking of someone's house on 50th and Cedar the night before last as
well as other burglaries I've heard about that night, I am bringing this up
to you all. NEVER TELL ANYONE YOU DON'T HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM ON THE PHONE,
no matter how set up the question is to get that info from you. I've
alerted the police to this number, and also we are taking precautions about
my neighbor's house now, but please don't fall for this!

OK - I'm hoping I don't have to send anything else out today! Except good
news!

Yours,
Patty
