Hello All,
Someone on my list urged me to forward this info to all of you to get the
message out wider - hope you don't mind!
Still waiting for more details, but again I think the info is still good as
it stands.... when I get descriptions of vehicles and 4 individuals will
pass it along....
Yours,
Patty

Hello All,
Sgt. Washington came to the last meeting at Calvary on Thursday. He shared
about an incident that had happened a few days before. I still need to
catch up to him to get the exact details, but enough is known that I wanted
to make sure not to delay telling you.
Last week sometime, some of our excellent police officers noticed two cars
parked at 46th and Baltimore, at about 8:30 pm. Their engines were
running, and there was no one in the driver's seats. They had seen a total
of 4 individuals exit the cars, and stopped them. Turns out they all had
prior arrest records for robbery. The police officers (and Sgt.
Washington) instincts say they were preparing to rob, and make a quick
getaway in warmed and ready cars. Because they weren't actually doing
anything, they had to be released of course.
Thinking about it, that location makes a "good" spot to try this sort of
thing - businesses that are closed, and isolated from foot traffic due to
the traffic island and width of the street - next time you pass at night
take a look and see what I mean. Be extra vigilant there, and also any
other corners that have the same elements - wide isolating distances,
darkness, closed businesses at night. Be vigilant for yourselves, and also
for the same kind of situation, and if you see such a thing, call 911. Its
better for the police to check out something that turns out to be nothing,
than the other way around (missing something because we hesitated....)
Again, remember to NOT use headphones on the street, walk with head up and
alert (i.e. do not text or use your phone on the street), and keep alert.
Don't hesitate to use 215 898-WALK, the escort service.

Yours,
Patty
