Martin Luther King Day
Here are 2 of the great speeches to teach young people the truth about Martin Luther King JR. The young need to learn that the spy network of the 1960s tried to intimidate King with an anonymous blackmail letter suggesting his suicide. By studying these speeches and the true history of the empire, they will see why King would be targeted today, and every year since 1968.
The lies and manipulated false history of the plutocracy has turned the King holiday into the "flipping a few coins to beggars" which brother Martin spoke against! It is an attempt to manipulate and stifle the middle classes by insisting that single days of self-perceived charity should substitute for a revolutionary struggle for justice 365 days a year, as he understood, as living the good and meaningful life.
The empire wants the children to believe that acts of assassination, war, and antidemocratic terrorism are actually acts of national service. We now know that the empire is operating its strategy of permanent war in at least 134 countries of the world. If the children learn the real history of brother Martin, they will understand why the plutocracy creates false histories and legacies, which often become the opposite of the truth!
When the children compare the treatment of great heroes like Assange, Manning, Snowden, et. al., with the great revolutionary and humanist Martin Luther King; they will know how those who misuse history and power would actually treat him today!
Discussion questions: If brother Martin were here today, would he be exalted by those in power, or would he be likely to be on one of the infamous lists? Could MLK be a target of a drone under current "law?" Would Martin be more likely to attend an Occupy encampment, a dinner at JP Morgan, or a celebration at a military recruitment station?
To honor the legacy of Dr. King, join the struggle for a revolution of values, 365 days a year; and take today to study the difference between truth, lies, and propaganda.
