Move to amend is a very important movement to amend the constitution and end the evil choke hold of the plutocracy known as "corporate personhood."
You young folks are a betrayed generation in America, as are the generations after you! Never before did a society so completely abandon all future generations to enslavement and extinction! And you probably don't know the local history of this once great neighborhood's transition to a neofascist, corporate controlled, police district. There was a time that people loved this neighborhood and considered it a home and community!
Our heroic brothers and sisters of the Occupy movement embodied real democracy with the process known as "general assemblies." In my own failed attempt to thwart fascism here, and the privatization of Philadelphia parks, I tried to gain support for a local "town hall forum" to bring processes of deliberative democracy before the community was brought to its knees.(It was a period of extreme madness in the neighborhood and society, and I failed) The New England style town hall meeting or Occupy's general assemblies must be thought of as a right of the people, as well as a vital essential process for self government!
If we are able to band together and throw off the death drive of capitalism in its final inevitable stages, I believe we need civic literacy teach-ins and general assemblies to emerge in every neighborhood. The only way we'll stop the neofascism with a people's movement is by taking each neighborhood back for the people through general assemblies!!!! And if we focus on that strategy, we will certainly win and might have a chance of saving the planet!!! That is why the plutocrats are hell bent on destroying the 1st and 4th amendment rights.
