Neighbors,

I'm really outraged by this new "broken windows" strategy.  It's obviously designed for the next targeted gentrification zones. It's unbelievably heartless!

I think it's important to really understand this new law, and how it is designed for horrible abuse. And please think about why this "study" and "article"  attempts to deceive us.

The newspaper and the corporate front group clearly tries to insinuate that this is designed to stop the practice of boarding up neighborhoods for future development. They try to make you think that this is designed for wealthy out of town "slumlords." That's the deception.

If you look closely, you will see that "low vacancy" and "targeted enforcement" are the key words. So, the wealthy out of town developers actually boarding up neighborhoods are the very ones unaffected, getting a free pass!   That's considered a high vacancy neighborhood not targeted!

Please recognize that this enforcement is for the neighborhoods next to wealthy neighborhoods. And the targets are any poor or elderly people hanging onto their houses! The developers want to grab these houses in the "next" neighborhood. They don't want to board these houses, but upscale the units and raise the rents and profits.

Because the fines can be massive quickly, by pretending its wealthy developers; they get rid of elderly or working class poor in one single hit!

At $300 a day, they can make this thousands for a single boarded basement window, before the person even knows about it.  Ask yourself, how many of us have gotten trash tickets, 5 months after the date of accusation?

The people who have a basement window boarded up need help, not thousands of dollars of fines! Most people who put a board on a window aren't trying to lower the values of their neighbors property and would probably like the window properly fixed. They can't afford it!

This type of bullying and harming the poor and elderly is pure evil!!!!!!   This strategy has been widely reported and studied, even if the corporate media relentlessly pushes the deceptions and propaganda to those easily fooled.

Here is part of a series on gentrification in Baltimore and Philadelphia.  Those interested should watch all 4 parts.  It's a very good discussion:

Thanks for your attention to this,
