I have had similar very sad results with my figs.  Possibly a few will make it 
this year though probably not… and the restarts from the strong old roots look 
like a future crop (?of 2016?, or even later?), will be a strong contender (if 
if if if…).  I also started some new species (of fig / grape / rosemary) this 
season - but we are not exactly the farm center for such cultivars - especially 
without a lot of added technologies like lights, wraps, etc.
