Meanwhile, I can also confirm I had the same problem with this package as well.

This also clearly points out one of the few deficiencies with APT.  It should 
just "move on" when it encounters a problem package rather than coming to a 
screeching halt.   This is especially true when one is trying to install 
important updates, among other packages at once, (e.g. apt-get upgrade, apt-get 
dist-upgrade, apt-get install packageA, packageB, messed-up-packageC...).
