I'm all for updating it as our current version doesn't build and thus doesn't
work at all... we can't break it more than it is currently by updating ;)
I didn't finish the merge because at that time the debian version didn't build
for us... see bug #5701 for the merge bug that can be closed after finishing
this UVF exception
