FTR, just ran into this on Feisty.  Escaping the @ in [EMAIL PROTECTED] so you
get [EMAIL PROTECTED] makes the problem go away.

WRT to Taku Yasui already having this fixed, it seems that fix is already two 
years old ...
I'd say it's time for a fixed package.
