Actually, when no datafiles are installed, a message should be
displayed. Installation should not fail (in fact, the configure script
never actively returns a non-zero value, so this must be caused by an
error in one of the programs called).

Anyway, closing this bug is fine, the behaviour described is
unreproducible.
