Hmmm... that sounds like "put it back the old way" rather than "the new way is fixed".
I too am experiencing a long wait as grub loads initially which is a shame since it undoes all the great work the team has invested in faster boot times. It's certainly not around the 45 seconds you describe here, mine is closer to 10 I think. I have 2 hard disks, one with Vista, Windows 7 and Ubuntu 09.10 installed, the other with Windows 7 RC. Is "put it back the old way" really my only option?
