Factors eliminated:
Compiz - still crashed with compiz disabled.
Kernel - switching between recent versions seems irrelevant
Crashing seems to be random. Can happen when running a gnome screensaver, or
within a couple of minutes, or after a couple of hours.
Going to see if I can find a newer version of the intel driver that I can get
running on Ibex.
