gnubg doesn't crash in Debian (stable or unstable).  I just uploaded a new
package to Debian, so it's possible that synchronizing that package into
Ubuntu would fix the problem in Ubuntu as well, although it's also
possible that it's due to some Ubuntu-specific modifications or compiler
flags.
