Rolf, I know that the beginning is hard. You may have to wait long,
especially if you package new programs or new upstream releases. This
can get frustrating. The best way for getting new packages into Ubuntu
is through Debian. It's always good to keep the Debian and Ubuntu
package close.
I recommend you to bring the package to Debian and then lets see if we
get a feature freeze exception for the sync or merge.
