I have not tried 8.10 or 9.04-but the repositories list the exact same upstream version of Kdenlive. Different PROCESSORS, though have a major effect on "crashiness" of Kdenlive. If a library change and a new build from the same source changes the bug, the bug is presumably in one of those libraries.
This bug(and all other kdenlive crashes) are more common on Intel than on AMD processors of similar capacity. An AMD 1333 MHZ Thunderbird Athlon will outperform a Pentium 4 at 2 GHZ and have fewer crashes. The bug is less common yet on an Athlon 64 overclocked to 2450 or so MHZ. I have never had access to something newer than that to try. I have tested export from Kdenlive and video playback on processors all the way back to a 450 MHZ Pentium 3 and a 500 MHZ Athlon, and they worked but would be too slow on export to be practical. To make them work for video requires resetting depth in xorg.conf to 16 and replacing Metacity with icewm(or compiz if a new video card is installed). Not enough editing done to test bugs on those, but I WAS able to split a clip in half and fade from one half to the other on these. I did not test deleting a razored portion on these older machines, though. > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Sun, 7 Dec 2008 10:14:47 +0000 > Subject: [Bug 210601] Re: KdenLive crashes on deleting razored portion of clip > > Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04? > > ** Changed in: kdenlive (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > KdenLive crashes on deleting razored portion of clip > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210601 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. _________________________________________________________________ Send e-mail anywhere.
