Hello, After some investigations on my side on Itcl vs. Tcl8.5, I have found the reason to this: Itcl is accessing internal things that have changed between 8.4 and 8.5. So, Itcl3.2 *will* crash.
Note that Itcl3.3 will *not* compile either against Tcl8.5... this Tcl version requires Itcl3.4 ! Yeah, this sound great... except that v3.4 doesn't exist as is! the way to find it is (thanks to Google for this) to download the nightly build of itcl on 2008/12/15 from ActiveState: ftp://tcl.activestate.com/pub/tcl/nightly-cvs/itcl-20081215.tar.gz Final note: ...and don't expect to compile the Itcl4.0 package that is being distributed either... this one is dedicated to Tcl8.6, which is still in beta (too)... And according to a TIP, it is likely that the most interresting part of Itcl will now be part of the Tcl package... -- crash (core dump) when used with tclsh8.5 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
