** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel I'm using Ubuntu hardy Heron and I have an Intel GMA 945 built in graphics on Intel D945GCNL Mother Board. My monitor is ViewSonic VA1703wb with native resolution of 1440x900. I'm getting the native resolution without any problems. But when the screen resolution changes during playing games , (after exiting the game) the native resolution doesn't come back. When I run 'xrandr -s 1440x900' nothing happens as it is not in the available lists. This problems does not happen always. But when it happens I cannot use my native resolution. I have to shutdown the PC for some minutes and then turning on gives back the native resolution. Doing just a restart doesn't work fine. When I googled I came up with some EDID problems regarding the Windows driver of GMA 945. But there were no mention about Linux. This problem also happens sometimes when starting the PC. When it occurs the only way is to shutdown and start after a while... Is this a driver issue ? Any help is appreciated.... + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub [8086:2770] (rev 02) + Subsystem: Intel Corporation Unknown device [8086:d606] + 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2772] (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Intel Corporation Unknown device [8086:d606]
