Pardon my ignorance of the process here - I see that you've moved the
package to "wget" from "synaptic", which seems to be fair enough, but
can I ask why you've also declined this bug for Jaunty, which is still
around 3 months from completion?

Where would be the best place to raise the fact that putting a proxy
into Synaptic will not work with any package that invokes wget?

Finally, why does Synaptic have a proxy setting at all when it could be
using the system wide proxy setting from gnome? Should/could a bug be
raised about this? Between system settings, wgetrc, synaptic and
firefox, the base Ubuntu build now has four different places to set a
proxy.
