The website I mentioned as example needs a media player plugin that can
play .asf files.

I installed the mplayer firefox plugin (one of the suggestions of
firefox). I do understand that the way it is now means more flexibility,
but having a media player browser plugin installed by default means that
you have a fully usable system earlier.

Maybe it is an idea to let the user choose at installation or at first
run of firefox?
