I have the same problem with 2.6.28. The old 2.6.27 kernels work well. I only use kernels shipped by Ubuntu.
With 2.6.28 the display hangs at about 10 minutes after startup (+-5). The mouse pointer moves, but the mouse buttons and the keyboard do not work. The display is freezed, clock does not work, etc. I used to hit Alt-SysRq K several times, and Ctrl-Alt-Del then. Sometimes I managed to get a console after some SysRq-K and Ctrl-Alt-F1, tried to run X, but I had to kill it again by SysRq-K. I have ThinkPad R61 with an integrated Intel chipset: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) -- [UXA] Kubuntu Jaunty - X server freezes frequently after enabling UXA in Intel 945GM/GMS (UXA bug) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342675 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
