I can confirm the bug with the backport of OpenOffice 3 for Ubuntu 8.04
(from http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu hardy ).
After apt-get install openclipart-openoffice.org, no clipart available
in the gallery. I had to add them manually from /usr/share/openclipart.
