So wait.....the package manager does not install the requested data, it crashes with an error, and it is not a bug?
It looks like a bug, it acts like a bug.....I think this is a bug. Having things crash when people attempt to install something is bad. Also, when I followed the instructions given here, this was the result: p...@ubuntu-desktop:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure sun-java6-doc /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: sun-java6-doc is broken or not fully installed After manually going to the Sun web site and downloading the file and manually putting it in the /tmp directory and changing the permissions and having the instructions here fail I installed something I did not need with Synaptic and it was able to install the Java6-Doc package. As long as this crashes in the faces of users you will continue to get bug reports on this, of that much I am sure. -- package sun-java6-doc 6-10-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330721 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
