Yes, they are flacs, but why did transferring tracks 2-20 go okay, yet
track 1 was the bummer?

Yes, the filenames do have spaces. In the PuTTy window I selected the
filename (following an ls) and typed rm followed by a right-click of
the mouse. PuTTy inserted the escape space format.

Mmm, I was logged in as root! But when I hit enter the cursor just
dropped to the next line showing > and nothing else happened. Typing
anything in just showed the letters onscreen but nothing happened when
enter was hit. Normally bash would come back with an error or
something.

I'll get there. It could be a PuTTy issue so I may have to attach the
keyboard/monitor again to the Linux box and try the direct approach.
