The stream just doesn't get started at all. Pressing pause, stop, play either on the player (Softsqeeze) or web interface has no effect.
I have now Ubuntu 5.20 running on this machine with a freshly built Slimserver nightly 6.2.1 version of 2005-11-13. Everything works pretty nicely now. But I'm really curious to find out why the slimcd isn't working on this machine. I was very impressed on the slimcd package. Slimcd would probably give me higher server performance on that old machine, which is important when my music collection grows. Maybe it could be some odd incompatibility issue between a Slimserver and Softsqeeze version?
