Thanks for looking at this thread, I'm trying to get SlimServer 6.2.1 running on a LinkStation II. I've tried to follow Mark Field's instructions, and once I'd replaced the Windows Telnet client with another (working) one, it started to work. I've installed the latest OpenLink, mipsel tools and compiled SlimServer modules from linkstationwiki.org. Unfortunately, when starting SlimServer I get 'The following modules failed to load: Compress::ZLib'.
I've tried downloading the latest ZLib library and compiling it, but I after trying a 'make' command I get '/bin/sh: cc: command not found'. If you haven't already guessed, I'm a Linux noob. Please be gentle when responding :).
