Thanks for the info. I've taken the SliMP3 out of the equation until I can find a fix for the Squeezebox.
I removed both the song database and the prefs file and the problem still occurs. To be precise, the display on the Squeezebox will freeze, the 'config' screen appears (for configuration of slimserver location etc), the display then goes blank, and finally it continues as it was before (working correctly). During this time, I've not actually noticed any pauses in music playback, but that could well be to do with buffering. Are there any debug flags I can turn on at the server to help diagnose the issue? I suppose my next best bet is to try and reduce the 'distance' (in network terms) between the player and the server, and see if something between the two is actually to blame (unlikely, as other devices haven't exhibited any problems).
