Hi all, Looking at the source for the MusicMagic plugin for my Linux setup of Slimserver, I see that it looks like the code was written to be able to handle connecting from Linux to a MusicMagic API service running on a different machine even possibly being a Windows box.
>From what I can tell, I should be able to change $MMSHost from 'localhost' to my win PC's IP address and then specifying in $MMSremoteRoot, the windows root access to my music collection (i.e. M:\), I should be able to get slimserver to connect remotely..? I remember reading somewhere that it was only possible to get slimserver to talk to musicmagic on the same machine (therefore same OS) which was a showstopper for me since my slimserver runs on a LinkStation (PPC Linux) and MusicMagic on my WinXP PC (no PPC Linux version available). Maybe this is only true for the default setup? Anyway, I'll give it a try.
