Well, I guess that's the trade-off you make. For me, that fact that the Xbox has a 733Mhz processor is more important than power consumption or noise (within reason). I finished copying (most of) my music over to the Xbox today and installed slimserver. Some stats: It uses 57776K of RAM with a resident size of 30M. It took around 50 minutes to scan ~16.5k files. CPU usage is ~4% streaming flac to a SB3. web interface and remote responsiveness is pretty good - the SQLite DB tends to slow things down so I may try using MySQL on the box.
