Hello, I tried the deb package of 6.5 on my Ubuntu Breezy 5.10 box and I have proved unsuccesssful.
1. I added the Slimdevices repository to my sources file via Synaptic. 2. I selected slimserver and installed it. 3. Rebooted for good measure (hold over from my Windoze days) 4. Tried to connect to web interface (from a browser started on the same box, no network yet), received "Connection Refused error" using real IP of machine, localhost, and default host name, Ubuntu. 5. Checked for logs, slimserver directory exists in /var/log, but is empty. 6. Slimserver seems to be running by checking ps -aux 7. Manuall attempts to start throw error messages similiar to what wass seen early on in this thread. 8. Re-installed Ubuntu from scratch (figuring I had messed something up), applied latest updates from the Ubuntu repositories (which may have included a Perl update to 5.8.7?) and repeated steps above to the same result. 9. This was all done using the deb from 3/24 10. I saw mentions of possible permission problems earlier in the thread, but I am not sure what to check or change. Anybody have any thoughts? Anybody else having any problems with todays deb? Thanks in advance for any/all help. -- boerner ------------------------------------------------------------------------ boerner's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3601 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20603 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
