As mentioned perviously, I have a fully working installation on my Linkstation. As some of the other previous posts susggest, it sounds very likely that your Perl installation is faulty in some way.
If I log-in to my Linkstation as root, I can simply type: perl -v to get the following output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# perl -v This is perl, v5.8.5 built for ppc-linux Copyright 1987-2004, Larry Wall Perl may be copied only under the terms of either the Artistic License or the GNU General Public License, which may be found in the Perl 5 source kit. Complete documentation for Perl, including FAQ lists, should be found on this system using `man perl' or `perldoc perl'. If you have access to the Internet, point your browser at http://www.perl.com/, the Perl Home Page. I strongly suggest you re-visit the www.fieldnetworks.com site and carefully check the Perl installtion instructions there. As I said, having followed them myself I have experienced no problems. -- slimnick ------------------------------------------------------------------------ slimnick's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2333 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23345 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
