my *nix skills are somewhat weak due to being pretty new at it, but here's what happens when I try to install those:
as stated earlier, when trying to install slimserver is says I need ---------- libdbd-sqlite3-perl So this morning I did an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, which went fine, then I tried to install libdbd-sqlite3-perl and it says ------------ Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies: libdbd-sqlite3-perl: Depends: perlapi-5.8.7 but it is not installable Depends: perl (>= 5.8.7-3) but 5.8.4-8sarge4 is to be installed Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.5-1) but 2.3.2.ds1-22sarge3 is to be installed So I tried to install those but that didn't work either ----------- # apt-get install perlapi Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done E: Couldn't find package perlapi # apt-get install perl Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done Sorry, perl is already the newest version. 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 28 not upgraded. # apt-get install perl-5.8.7-3 Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done E: Couldn't find package perl-5.8.7-3 # apt-get install libc6 Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree...
