The /sbin/service command is only on Mandriva, on SuSE you need to use /etc/init.d/slimserver. You also may need to replace the /etc/init.d/slimsever script with one that is more SuSE friendly -- google "slimserver suse" and you should find one. 9.x version is okay. There was some talk about fixing the RPM to support SuSE's different init scripts, but I don't know if it happened, so it might be worth trying the script before replacing it.
