I use Winamp and Shoutcast server (free to download). The Winamp DSP server plugin allows you to use the output of your PC audio as an input to the server. You can then stream the audio to the SB as if it was an internet radio, but on your internal network.
I use this very successfully to rebro Launchcast (Yahoo) audio to my Hi Fi.
