Find an old laptop, or a PPC MacMini - you'll be much happier.
Fairly decent laptops (e.g. pentium II/celeron) with broken displays go
fairly cheaply on ebay.
Just plug in a monitor to get them setup, and then hide it in a corner
without the monitor.
