unless you are constantly changing/moving/replacing files, fragmenting isn't going to be a problem.
Has the unit been running constantly? Have you tried restarting it to see if the speed issue clears up? Have you updated to SlimServer 6.3? might be worth a shot. Also, download the update which actually deletes the database file, might also work. who know.
