Cool. That did it. My sources.list file didn't look like yours. I just needed to comment out the lines that reference universe (not multiverse).
Are you at SlimDevices? Can this information be captured in the install directions? It's super useful.. and I'm really liking a Debian system much better than I ever did my RPM systems.
