Ok I looked at this with fresh eyes and fixed it myself. But for all the other nix newbies out there, let me post the answer. I googled CGI/Util.pm and eventually discovered it pointed to a perl update rpm. I downloaded the rpm perl-CGI-2.81-88.4.i386.rpm and then did an rpm -Uhv perl-CGI-2.81-88.4.i386.rpm. When the update completed, I issued a service slimserver start and all was well.
