Cool -- congratulations!! And glad to hear that you seem to have gotten things set up with /etc/fstab so you don't need to mount the share manually. Wake-on-LAN should be reasonably easy as long as your ethernet card supports it. I haven't gone that route because after about a month of running things more or less the way you have it, I switched over to running slimserver directly from the LinkStation. Let us know if/when you decide to do the same.... ;o)
