Re running 6.5 on a debianized LinkStation, it can be done. With help from the folks here, esp Dan Sully, I got it running on my LinkStation HD-HG (PPC). You probably need to install some of the MySQL pieces. Check this thread for some good tips: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26468
