Yes, it was a typo. I meant shutdown. I changed the file my.tt in the MySQL directory to comment out this line (the file my.cnf is copied from the my.tt file when the server is started). That work and slimserver was started with a warning about missing Inno_DB support.
My next question would be, what other changes could I make to the my.tt file in order to make mysql less demanding.
